Thermal Conductivity Analyzer

A Thermal Conductivity Analyzer (TCD Analyzer) is used to measure gas composition based on thermal conductivity differences. It detects gases by comparing their ability to conduct heat relative to a reference gas. Common gases measured include hydrogen (H₂), helium (He), nitrogen (N₂), and carbon dioxide (CO₂). The analyzer contains a heated filament or sensor exposed to the sample gas. As gas flows over the sensor, it carries away heat at a rate depending on its thermal conductivity. Changes in the sensor temperature alter its electrical resistance. This resistance change is converted into an output signal proportional to gas concentration. A reference gas is used to improve measurement accuracy and stability. Thermal conductivity analyzers are widely used in industrial processes, gas purity analysis, and laboratory applications. They are valued for their simplicity, reliability, and ability to measure a wide range of gases.
